Cards to Share

Sorry I haven't had time to post this week, its been all go. Monday I was out all day meeting up with another SU demo, had a fab day. Chatted and stamped a lot. Must make the images that I stamped all into some works of art. Yesterday was a catch up day with housework, not that you would think so after today. We got the worktops and bits and pieces ready to start in the kitchen on Saturday. Boy I can't wait till its all done, my living room is housing everything at present. I have to box up some more things tomorrow so the guys can get access to the sink area.

Anyway I wanted to share some cards I made at the weekend in between doing everything else, lol.

This first one is using one of the hostess gift sets, you can earn these by hosting a party either by a book or in your own home. If your total sales are over £150 you are also entitled to £15 of FREE products. Contact me if you interested in hosting a party.

I just love these images, there are so many wonderful things you can do with just one set of stamps. The next card is also using the same set but a different way.

I am into the softsubltes at the moment, and both these cards use that colour family.

Cardstock:certain celery, barely banana, pretty in pink and whisper white

ink pads: certain celery, barely banana, pretty in pink and pixie pink.

Stamp set: Pretty Posies hostess level one.

Accessories: Ribbon certain celery, slit punch.

That is it for today I must go and get ready for class. Still got to pack a few things I have forgotten, lol. Enjoy!

One for the Guy's!

Well its been a bit hectic here this week with the kids being off school and having to visit family etc. So today I thought I needed a play day. I decided to make a card for a man, they are so difficult to make for. This is what I have come up with. I just love this set.
The image is from Summer by the Sea on pg 48 of the UK catalogue. It is one of the more expensive sets but when you actually break the price down its not that expensive. £4.82 per stamp, I don't think you would get those quality images for that price. They are so verstile. I stamped using Stazon in black and then coloured using my Prisma pencils and Sansador (low odour mineral spirit). I matted it onto a piece of old olive cardstock that had been cut out using my nestabilities.
I also used the background stamp from the Polka Dots and Paisley on pg 51. I stamped all over on creamy caramel cardstock using Versamark. Then I used the stampin pastels and a dauber as an applicator and dabbed chalk all over the Versamark as I don't haver this ink pad yet (building my stock slowly). I then cut a piece of Not Quite Navy cardstock and using the spiral punch, punched along the edge. This was all pieced together as shown in the picture then the image was mounted with the dimensionals.
I have left off my sentiment for now as I am not sure who is going to be the recipient.

Purse Card

I have been wanting to make one of these since I first saw the idea on HERE Check out Patty's blog, it really has some great ideas on it. Well since we don't yet have those gorgeous big scallops, I decided to get my cricut out of the box and use it. The cart used is mini monograms. The setting I used was for a 5 1/2" scallop circle and the paper circle is 5".

The envelopes I used where from my own stash and where 5" square. I cut a piece of cardstock and scored/folded in half and used this for the centre piece. I then decorated it all inside and out.

I have yet to add photo's as this is for my mum and I want to put some pictures of the kids in there. All cardstock, papers, ribbon and punches are from SU! Colours Rose red and So saffron.

Thank you for looking :-)

Stampbord!

I have been having a bit of a playday today. Its hard when the kids are off school. But today 'J' decided to buy a game from his birthday money on the Wii. He got the Mario Kart and its fab, well it kept them both quiet apart from the cheers and groans, lol.

Anyway, today I thought I would play with stampbord, something I haven't used in a long while. Firstly I used daubers (pg 81) and with the ink pads green galore, tempting turquoise and brilliant blue. I gradually built up the ink using the pads in the order above. It was just a case of dabbing the ink from the pad to the little inch tiles I used. Then I inked up my stamp with black Stazon and carefully took one tile at a time and placed it on the stamp, holding them all carefully in place until the stamp was covered. Then I used an etching pen to scrap away sections to give it some high lights in places. I just so love this stamp set, Summer by the Sea (pg 48).

I then took each tile and using versamark inked them up and sprinkled clear embossing powder onto the tiles. I did this about 3 times on each tile. It then seals in the ink and gives it all a nice gloss finish. I then matted it all onto Brillian blue, green galore and Tempting turquoise cardstock. Then used some of my own heavy weight card for the base.

Here is a close up. Enjoy!

Card and 3D project

I have two projects to show you today. The first one is a card for a friends birthday. I have used the petals stampin wheel and inked it up using the Rose Red ink pad. Rolled it over the rose red cardstock and cut a strip approximately 6.5cm. Then I used my corner rounder to make a scalloped edge. It was then stuck onto the main card with DST.

I then used the 'Loads of Love' and the 'Loads of Love Accessories' stamp sets. The truck was stamped three times, once on the designer paper, once on rose red cardstock and once on apricot appeal cardstock. I then cut out sections from the cardstock and layered them onto the designer paper. The lady was stamped directly onto the whisper white cardstock. I then stuck the truck on top of the white so the lady was visible in the window. If you have the stamp a-ma-jig you can stamp the lady after you have stuck the truck down. Its optional if you want to round corners etc. Then mat and layer onto Apricot Appeal cardstock. I then used a round tab punch and punched out in rose red, added a greeting from the accessories set, placed this on the corner. Mounted the whole thing using the stmpin dimensionals. I then added some flowers but coloured them using glitter pens as I don't have the markers YET!

Voila!

My next project is for a pencil/pen holder. I have used chipboard and cut out some 4 x 4 inch squares. You would need five for the basics and another two if you want to put some dividers inside. If you don't have chipboard you can use the back of paper pads, you know the grey bits that you tend to throw away. Cover all the sides, on all the pieces. Then you need to punch holes to thread ribbon though to hold all the pieces together. I used a crop a dile. Then I weaved the ribbon through.

Then I took a further two pieces and made some sections and secured those with ribbon at the top. Voila all done. I hope you enjoyed viewing :-)

STAMPS : Loads of Love and Loads of love Accessories (pg 37), Petals stampin' Wheel (pg 71).

INK:Black stazon (pg 82), rose red (pg 71)

Thursday 3 April 2008

This is my chosen card that I used to demonstrate and then for all who attended to make.
The card is an A6 with the fold at the top but then laid on its side. The brilliant blue and tempting turquoise cardstock are from the bold brights colour family found on page 70 of the UK catalogue.
I have used the stamp set 'Simply Said' one of my favourites at the moment, this can be found on page 39, (£25.95 for a set of 11 stamps, that works out at £2.36 per stamp, bargain). There is loads you can do with this set and its so versatile too. I have also used 'Circle of Friends' stamp set which has circular greetings for different occassions, this can be found on page 62, (£17.95 for a set of 8 stamps, cost per stamp £2.24). I have used ink pads Brilliant blue and Tempting Turquoise. From the tools section I think one of the best things I have bought so far is the stamp-a-ma-jig found on page 81. If you like to make your own backgrounds with stamps then this tool is a must, saves ink and card. So its not just used for the two step stamping as advertised. I also love their punches which I have used the scallop circular punch and two of the circular ones (1 1/4" and 1 3/8"). These three seem to compliment each other in nearly all they do. People say they are a bit pricey but to me they are worth every penny, as they are more robust than any other punch I have bought, and believe me that is a lot over the years. You can find these on page 80.
Hope you have a lovely day and thanks for looking!

I won't spoil the surprise of what they are doing just yet, just in case someone is watching, lol. I may just share that later this week. I have just finished my set of instructions for one of the cards we are making. If anyone wants any details of where I will be and times, please email me at the address to the right.
